The job of any great teacher is to see their students reach superior academic achievement. Online teachers and advisors must go the extra mile to communicate effectively with students in cyberspace. It is not so easy to connect individually through distance learning, but it is essential to the teacher-student relationship.

How GREEN is a GWUOHS Students’ Classroom?

According to the Center for Sustainable Systems at the University of Michigan, “A carbon footprint is the total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions caused directly and indirectly by an individual, organization, event or product.” They continue, “it is calculated by summing the emissions resulting from every stage of a product or service’s lifetime (material production, manufacturing, use phase, and end-of-life disposal).” From the perspective of the school, how does a GWUOHS student’s carbon footprint compare to a traditional brick and mortar school student? Let’s put our best foot forward and look into transportation, paper, and lunchtime.

Showcased in the current Wired to Wear exhibit, you will find revolutionary devices such as the SpiderSense Vest, SignAloud Gloves, and the Iridescence dress. These inventions assist people to communicate and navigate their surroundings. The SpiderSense Vest is revolutionary for people impaired by partial to full blindness. It gives them a chance to “see” again.
