The lively GWUOHS YES! (Young Entrepreneur and Stocks) Club works to introduce students to a variety of business-related topics, such as marketing, entrepreneurship, and investing. The YES! Club, the school’s first and only business club, focuses on teaching students the fundamentals of personal finance, entrepreneurship, and finding ways to earn money. Under the leadership of student leader Julian-Alexandre W. and a group of committed moderators, Natalia Giraldo and Michele Hunolt, the club offers a forum for students to develop their business skills and consider pursuing entrepreneurship. But that’s not all! The club is pleased to welcome Linda H., Bobby M., and Martin B. as three new vice presidents this year. They will bring their experience and energy to the leadership group.
The YES! Club has a rich history of success, having served as the school’s official merchandise provider, generating over $3,000 in revenue, and now has approximately 150 customers. In previous years, the club has undertaken projects such as managing the school store and organizing merchandise sales. But this is just the beginning! This school year, the YES! Club has exciting activities planned for its members. The first meeting is scheduled for December 15th, where two departments will be offered: the merchandise shop and financial literacy. The merchandise shop will continue to provide students with high-quality products, while the financial literacy department will focus on equipping members with essential knowledge and skills for managing personal finances.
Students can also get firsthand exposure to the stock and investment markets through the YES! Club’s organized investing competitions. These contests give participants a great chance to put their knowledge to use and get insight from actual situations. The first meeting on Dec. 15 is when the club solidifies its member list, so interested students are encouraged to reach out to Julian or the leadership team to join. At GWUOHS, the YES! Club is a vibrant community that encourages students to learn more about business and entrepreneurship. With its wide range of events and committed leadership, the club gives its members the tools they need to succeed in the corporate world.
