Student Council News:

• Do you sing, play an instrument, or perhaps excel at art? Or do you nurture another unique talent? If so, be certain to grasp this opportunity to channel your creativity through your avocations. Don’t miss GWUOHS’ second annual talent show on March 15 at 2:00 pm.

• Bonding with classmates and forming lasting friendships is an imperative facet of the high school experience. The Student Council has been hosting multi-grade game nights for 8th, 9th, and 10th grade, and students have had a wonderful experience relaxing with their classmates during the weekend. Come and join us every Saturday at 6:30 pm on Skype!
• The 12th grade Student Council representatives are hosting a virtual escape room on March 24 at 2:00 pm. This is a perfect way for seniors to get together and practice teamwork while not worrying about physically being locked in a room.

Clubs and Social News:

• The first regional meetup of the Spring Semester is taking place on March 24 at the National Air and Space Museum’s Steve F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, VA. It will include a demonstration from the museum staff about forces of flight, time to explore the museum in small groups, and an IMAX movie! If you live nearby, whether you adore astronomy or simply enjoy meeting people, be sure to consider attending. • Head room, angles, look room? Check! The Photography Club invites you to the Spring Photography Club Art Show on March 10th at 11:00 am. Look forward to a showcase of photographs captured by GWUOHS students. 
• The Model United Nations club is holding their first Mock UN conference on March 10. Wish the delegates luck as they discuss the relevant issue of equal access to healthcare.
• In honor of Women’s History Month, the Law Club has been studying landmark court cases centered around women’s rights. Be certain to check out their recently-launched instagram page!
• Help us build a book that will be treasured forever! Please submit your yearbook photos to our TreeRing website. The deadline for submitting pictures is March 31.
• This week, in honor of SEL Day, which is on March 10, GWUOHS is celebrating Social Emotional Learning, centering on the theme Connecting Hearts and Uplifting Minds.

Academic News:

• Do you study French for your world language requirement? If so, don’t miss this excellent opportunity to assess your knowledge and potentially earn medals, certificates, and prizes. Sign up by March 14 to participate in the Grand Concours, a national academic French exam sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French.
• Re-registration is now open for returning students! If you intend on continuing next year, your Learning Coach can now log in to the OLS to re-enroll you for the 2023-24 academic year.
